ROCKET CLUB LAUNCHES NEW SINGLE, NORTH COUNTRY
Band Kicks-off Busy Summer Lineup of Shows
MINNEAPOLIS (May 25, 2011) – Local, chart-climbing, country rock band Rocket Club will launch its newest single North Country May 26 on iTunes and Amazon.com. North Country is a country rock single that pays tribute to northerners’ love for weekend getaways “up north.”
North Country is the title track from Rocket Club’s upcoming third album by the same name. The song has already been called an “Anthem to the North” by Minneapolis country music station K102. Rocket Club also released this week a music video of the song directed by Twin Cities filmmaker, Joe Brandmeier, which showcases the band hitting the road and heading up north interspersed with vintage home movies that could have come from anyone’s personal collection. The music video can be seen on YouTube and at the

“We are incredibly excited about North Country as our newest single,” said Don Smithmier, Rocket Club vocalist. “As a Minnesota band, we realized there are a lot of songs that pay tribute to the southern states -- Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee and Mississippi -- but none that are dedicated to the northern part of the country. This is a song that captures the universal love for heading ‘up north’ to be with family and friends.”
Rocket Club will kick-off a busy summer lineup including a performance August 6th at We Fest in Detroit Lakes, where they will join other national acts including Sugarland, Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley. In addition, Rocket Club has shows lined-up throughout the summer at various venues and events in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Ohio.
Rocket Club, which launched in 2008, has already had two hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100 including One More Day and One Thing Beautiful. The band operates independently under its own label.

Rocket Club News
On May 26th, Rocket Club will release the title track from our upcoming 3rd album, "North Country" on iTunes and Amazon.com.
We think it's time that country radio has some songs about the north! After all, haven't Alabama, Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas and Georgia already had more than their fair share?
Plus, who doesn't think about packing up the car, loading up the boat, and heading "up north" come summertime?
We hope you love the new track as much as we do. Stay tuned for the debut of the music video and be sure to download your copy from iTunes or Amazon on May 26th.
And, as always, THANK YOU to our friends at K102 in Minneapolis who started playing the new single the moment it was available.
"This is where the black top ends. This is where the fun begins."
